One of the many responsibilities of the City of LeClaire Public Works Department has is to plow snow and ice on city streets, alleys, and City Building lots during and immediately after a snow event. Here is some more specific information on exactly what the City of LeClaire Snow Ordinance and policies are and what happens when a snow emergency is declared by the mayor.
Snow removal highlights:
Snow ordinances are in effect from November 1 to March 31 of each year.
No parking or leaving a vehicle unattended on any city street, alleys, or city-owned off street parking area during a snow emergency (declared by the mayor). Check the City website's main page for any snow emergency information.
From November 1 to March 31 throughout the City of LeClaire, parking is limited to the even numbered side of the street on even
numbered calendar days and the odd numbered side of the street on odd numbered calendar days. Days begin at 7:00 a.m. and run for a period of twenty-four (24) hours.
Please do not pile, blow or shovel snow onto a city street or alley. This creates hazzardous icy, rough conditions when that snow/slush freezes down after City crews have already cleared the roads.
Please wait 24 hours AFTER the last of the snow has fallen before calling City Hall with any snow related concerns.
