LEC NO-CONTACT CURBSIDE PICKUP STARTING MAY 11
While our building is closed for public safety during this pandemic, LeClaire Library will offer no-contact curbside pickup starting May 11th. At this time holds may be placed through the online catalog for LeClaire Library cardholders and LeClaire Library items only, up to ten holds per library card. You will be notified that your materials are available by email, phone, or text. You may call us between 10:00 am and 4pm Monday through Friday if you need assistance.
Holds may be picked up between 11:00am and 3:00pm Monday through Friday, with extended hours until 7pm onThursdays.
When you arrive, call us (563-289-6007). We will bring out your materials in a bag and set them on a cart at the corner of Wisconsin and Third Streets. Patrons and staff should not approach one another and should respect the need for social distancing.
All returns must use the exterior drop box.
When our building re-opens in June curbside will end.

How do I place holds?
Request materials using the online catalog or call us at 563-289-6007 for assistance between 10:00am and 4:00pm Monday through Friday.
Do I need a library card?
Yes, you must have a valid LeClaire Library card to use this service. You may register for a card through the online catalog on the Log In/Register page. The catalog may be found on our webpage www.leclairelibrary.org. Call 563-289-6007 if you need assistance registering, or if you have questions about the status of your card.
Why is this service only for LeClaire patrons and LeClaire items?
No-contact curbside pickup is beginning before delivery service is reinstated between RiverShare libraries. We are choosing to circulate the items we have here in the safest manner possible, in order to restore some services to residents of LeClaire. We hope to be expanding this service to other libraries’ materials and other libraries’ patrons as soon as it can be done in a safe and efficient way. You may still return items from other RiverShare items here, and we will check them in.
How will I know my items are ready for pickup?
You will receive an email, phone or text message, depending on the preference you have selected in your library account. We are operating with limited staff, and only circulating items owned by our library. Staff will fill your holds placed online as quickly as possible, however, some materials may not be available, and wait times my be longer than usual. We appreciate your patience.
Do I need an appointment?
At this time, we are not requiring appointments, but will only allow pickups between 11:00am and 3:00pm Monday through Friday. We will be answering phones from 10:00 am to 4:00pm. We appreciate your cooperation as we are working with limited staff.
How many items may I check out?
You can check out up to 10 items per library card.
What if I have more than 10 holds on my account already? How do I let you know which items I would like to request?
In your library account, you have the ability to suspend your holds and have them reactivated at a later date of your choosing. You may call us at 563-289-6007 if you need our assistance.
How do I return materials?
Items may only be returned in our exterior drop box at the corner of Wisconsin and Third Streets. We will still accept items from all RiverShare libraries. No donations will be accepted at this time.
I returned my books but they are still on my account. Why?
When materials are returned, they will be quarantined for a period of days, so do not worry if you notice on your account that they are not checked in immediately. You will not receive fines for the quarantine period.
Are the books sanitized?
The CDC says that the virus can live on cardboard and paper for 24 hours. It may live on plastic for 2-3 days. Our staff are following best practices for sanitation. Your holds will be set out for pickup in a bag. If you are concerned, you may choose to let your materials sit at home for up to three days before accessing them.
What are you doing to protect the safety of library patrons and staff?
Our curbside pickup is designed to provide no contact between staff and patrons. Staff will follow CDC guidelines for protective wear and social distancing. Although it may be uncomfortable patrons and staff should not approach one another and respect the need for this distancing. Please remain in your vehicle until staff or previous patrons have left the pickup site.
