[ARCHIVED] INFORMATION CONCERNING COVID-19

Coronavirus1

The City of LeClaire has been monitoring and continues to make necessary adjustments in our Departments and Facilities to help keep both LeClaire Residents and City Staff as safe as possible.  Masks are required in all City Facilities.  Here is a summary of each area and it’s status.

LeClaire City Hall - LeClaire City Hall is open and allowing the public entry to the building while observing increased safety and hygienic practices and personal spacing requirements.  Council meetings and Committee meetings have resumed "in-person" and will be held as normal providing sufficient room and spacing area is available.  Please feel free to call City Hall at (563) 289-4242, or email the City Administrator at: echoate@leclaireiowa.gov  with your questions or concerns as needed.  Remember you can also sign up to pay your LeClaire Utility Bills ONLINE by clicking on the following link:   LeClaire Utility Bill Online Payment Signup

LeClaire Community Library - The library building is OPEN.  Hours are Monday – Thursday 10am – 7pm, Friday 10am – 5pm, and Saturday 10am – 2pm.  Please observe social distance of 6 feet.  Cross-borrowing between all RiverShare libraries has resumed. Holds may be placed online as usual. All returned items will be quarantined for 72 hours before being checked in. Parents are asked to do the browsing and selection of books for their small children. Online story times are posted on our Facebook each Friday. The Community Room is NOT open.  Computer use is limited to one hour.  Staff-operated scanner, copier and fax are available. For much more detailed information concerning library programs, online resources, scheduling, etc... click on the following link: LeClaire Library and visit the LeClaire Library Facebook page.

LeClaire Police Department -  In an effort to protect our Police, Firefighters, and Medics, we ask that if you call 911 for any reason, please let the dispatchers know if you are experiencing any flu like symptoms.  Thank you!

The Police Department will continue to conduct operations and allow public access to the facilities as normal.  Our front desk will still be staffed during normal business hours and officers will still be on duty 24/7. Officers will be responding to all calls for service like normal.  However, we will be doing our best to maintain a safe distance when at all possible.  We would like to remind our residents that there should be nobody going door to door talking to you about COVID-19 or offering “free testing” for the virus. If someone comes to your door wanting to discuss these things, do not let them in and immediately call 911 so that police can respond and handle the situation. So far there have been no reports of this in LeClaire, however, we have heard of similar scams going on nearby. Please don’t hesitate to call with any questions.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

LeClaire Fire Department - In an effort to protect our Firefighters, Police, and Medics, we ask that if you call 911 for any reason, please let the dispatchers know if you are experiencing any flu like symptoms.  Thank you!
